When you're here, you're part of a community. And the people who make up communities help and support each other in good times and bad. This year we decided to embrace this idea of togetherness and show 14 families in need how much we care.
Making it Happen
Team Lake Trust pulled together and was able to collect unique items for each family. We packaged up teddy bears, clothing, and bikes, but there were also a few special items in the mix that couldn't be wrapped. When we learned that one of our Adopt-A-Family recipients was attending school to be a chef, we arranged a surprise meeting with the head chef of the Brighton Bar and Grill.
"This is just a small demonstration of what we can do as an organization and how we can help out our members," said David Snodgrass, President/CEO of Lake Trust.
Living Our Culture
Our internal culture of giving isn't just something we say, but it's an idea that we embrace. With the great enthusiasm and amount of participation by staff, we hope to extend the program and help even more families next year. Ideas have been tossed around about involving local businesses and the rest of our Lake Trust membership.
The holidays are a time of reflection and thankfulness. And this year we're grateful that we could share our good fortune and spread some extra cheer to those who need it most.
Special Shout-Outs
We'd like to give a big thank you to Cooper & Binkley Jewelers, the Brighton Bar and Grill and 2|42 Community Church for their contributions to our Adopt-A-Family drive.
