The Strength of Her Passion: Del's Story

Spreading Joy Through a Day of Caring

On an early summer morning, we showed up for another day of work. But today we traded in our usual work tools for rakes, shovels, and gardening gloves. The day was spent planting flowers, trimming trees and power washing the home of an elderly resident in our community. At a second site, we partnered with Service Masters to clean the interior of another elderly resident's home. Our work sometimes leads us to unexpected places, but there shouldn't be a limit on the ways that we can help someone in need.

More Than A Game: The 2016 Lake Trust Foundation Golf Classic

On a sunny day in late June, 136 people gathered at Oak Pointe Country Club excited for the upcoming round of golf. Old friends shared stories from the last year of their lives and some new faces joined in on the conversations. Teams ribbed each other about their game as the day went on, but the competition stayed friendly. Because it didn't really matter who won or lost this game. The golfers had a bigger purpose that day: To show that they believed in the mission of the Lake Trust Foundation.

He missed shots because the lights weren't bright enough, the summer months brought on sweltering heat and the brisk evenings were felt indoors. After attending too many games with inadequate facilities, George finally had enough and decided to take matters into his own hands.

The World of Wonder at Impression 5

What was once an old lumber factory is now home to Impression 5 Science Center, a place that encourages kids to ask questions and stay curious about their surroundings. By teaching children how to solve problems, our community partner is creating a new generation of innovative thinkers while serving as a cultural icon in the city of Lansing.
